Eilbeck Cranes has successfully manufactured and delivered the first two Ex Zone 1 classification cranes designed to operate in hazardous atmospheres from their Mackay based facility for their client Origin Energy – APLNG. Origin Energy is involved in developing a number of Upstream Gas Field Facilities for the emerging Coal Seam Gas industry and in 2011 Eilbeck Cranes was contracted to provide our overhead crane and hoisting engineering and manufacturing expertise to assist in the supply of equipment of the Upstream Gas Field projects. In total, 15 overhead cranes are scheduled for delivery over the next 12 months to 8 different locations scattered throughout central QLD.
 

Far from the everyday run of the mills factory cranes, these Ex cranes require a high level of technical and engineering expertise to ensure the "Ex" (explosion proof) rating is achieved and maintained throughout the course of manufacture. Build quality, documentation, certification and QA are all areas scrutinised closely by the clients independent 3rd party inspectors through out course of the project to ensure the cranes are fully compliant to all quality standards and specifications and all the important Explosion Proof characteristics are achieved.
