Eilbeck Crane has been successful I securing large order for 5 off special cranes for the FSPO

Ichthys Offshore FSPO Cranes

FPSO
DSME is the second largest shipbuilder in the world, Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering, Co, is constructing a giant Floating Production Storage and Offloading vessel (FPSO).
Project Ref: 60261
Client: DSME Daewoo Shipbuilding and Marine Engineering
Project: Ichthys Offshore Australia

Eilbeck Crane has been successful in securing a large order for 5 special cranes for the FSPO.

One Crane sits on the vessel deck and the remaining are within the hull structure. Two crane are operating within Hazardous areas with an Ex Rating of Zone 1IIB T4 , all cranes operate with rack and pinion for the cross and long travel drives along within very tight space restrictions.

The most complicated and difficult crane is a 100 (50+50) t x 15m is use to extract the 55t stern Thruster from the vessel hull for service. This crane is working within very tight room restraints and has 2 x 50 t hoists, 2 x 5 tonne aux hoist along with full manual Controlled lowering on the main hoists, in the event of hoist failure, at Thruster removal, it is critical to lower and plug the 5.0m diameter hole in the hull.

The vessel will also treat and dispose of produced water. It will be located approximately 2 km from the Central Processing Facility and will contain liquid (condensate and water) treatment facilities, living quarters and associated utilities.

Eilbeck Cranes accepted the challenge for the most difficult design, QA, manufacture Eilbeck Cranes has undertaken and it looks forward but has full confidence in its team to delivery the product required by the client.

Eilbeck Crane had to compete aggressively right thru Christmas - NY shut to secure the order and Eilbeck is looking for a continuous business within the ship building industry and is also currently trying to secure and order for crane on the CPF from Samsung & TOPSIDE cranes from DSME.

The FPSO will serve for offshore storage and export of condensate from the Ichthys field. The condensate will be transferred from the CPF to the FPSO and, further, it will be exported from the FPSO via a floating loading hose to off take tankers.

All cranes are to be manufactured within 2013 in very tight delivery frame plus fully load tested in Perth at the manufacturing facility recently commissioned.

The order came from the Japanese oil giant INPEX and is a part of the Ichthys' project, offshore Australia. Daewoo made the announcement on the Korea Exchange, saying that the estimated worth of the project was $2 billion.
